Alaria esculenta extract is an extract obtained from the species of edible seaweed, Alaria esculenta (badderlocks or winged kelp). It is a common brown kelp species found in the Northern Atlantic, where it grows on very wave-exposed shores.
The extract of this seaweed is rich in alginates, special seaweed polysaccharides that have the ability to form a protective layer on the skin’s surface.
