Overview

Vaccinium angustifolium fruit extract is obtained from the fruits of the lowbush blueberry.

Native to Canada and the northeastern United States, the plant yields dark blue berries which people enjoy both fresh or in a jam or smoothie. Lowbush blueberries can be either found in the wild or cultivated on a large scale. There are many different cultivars with big and plentiful berries.

Blueberries are rich in vitamin C and anthocyanins - which give them their antioxidant properties and purple-blue color. They contain plenty of antioxidant compounds that are able to protect the skin from oxidative stress. Blueberry fruit extract temporarily shields and relieves injured, dry, exposed, or irritated skin.
