Overview

Triticum Vulgare bran extract is an extract from wheat bran. This extract contains various proteins, polysaccharides, and phenolic compounds, although its exact composition is largely unknown.

It was tested in a very recent clinical study as a cosmetic treatment against melasma. The study took three months and the results were quite promising. The wheat bran extract was able to reduce the size of melasma spots and improve the rate of skin discoloration significantly. These effects lasted for an additional month after the end of the treatment.

This makes wheat bran extract a prospective anti-pigment ingredient, especially in combination with other active ingredients.
