Overview

Theobroma cacao extract is an extract obtained from cocoa beans or cocoa powder. Cocoa contains many different bioactive compounds and has many beneficial effects on the skin.

Caffeine is a stimulant and increases microcirculation in the skin while flavanols and tannins (responsible for the bitter taste of true cocoa) are astringent and antioxidant and protect against UV-induced damage.
