Overview

Terminalia ferdinandiana fruit extract is an antioxidant and antimicrobial extract from the fruits of the Kakadu plum, Terminalia ferdinandiana, an endemic Australian plant.

These fruits, out of all the plants in the world, contain the highest levels of vitamin C. Up to 6% of the fresh fruit weight can be made up of vitamin C, which makes it an excellent antioxidant. The sugars from the fruit’s juices also have some humectant moisturizing properties.

The fruit extract has been shown to be an effective antimicrobial remedy against various pathogens, including against the bacteria that causes skin infections, acne, and body odor. Terminalia ferdinandiana fruit extract is, therefore, a beneficial antimicrobial ingredient in skincare products.
