Stellaria media extract is a soothing extract obtained from chickweed, or Stellaria media. It is one of the most widespread plants in the world, as it can happily grow almost anywhere as long as it has enough water.
Stellaria media extract contains various saponins and flavonoids that are said to reduce irritation and itching of the skin (only by traditional medicine, as there is no evidence in research).
The name ‘chickweed’ comes from the fact that it is a favorite forage plant for chickens and hens.
