Overview

You know what sodium chloride is, even if you don’t think you do. It’s table salt! Salt works well with some cleansing ingredients (surfactants) to thicken them into gels.

It is also a stabilizer for certain creams that are made as water in oil emulsions, but to other emulsions salt can be a stability killer.
