Santalum album oil is a fragrant essential oil derived from the aromatic sandalwood tree.
Native to India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and a few other countries, it is one of the most expensive trees in the world. Its deep, rich, woody-floral fragrance lasts much longer than those of other aromatic woods. It is widely used in aromatherapy and, like most essential oils, can be irritating to the skin.
