Overview

Salvia sclarea extract is derived from the clary sage plant, a plant with light purple flowers and a distinctive scent. The extract acts as a soothing ingredient that helps to deal with the visible signs of sensitivity that appear in response to environmental damage.

Clary sage extract contains fragrant terpenoids (mainly linalool, linalyl acetate, and terpineol) that can be used to regulate the production of skin sebum.

It is also rich in special type of tannins, typical for all plants from the Lamiaceae family (sages, mints, lavenders, and other nice-smelling herbs). They contribute to the plant's astringent properties and provide a tightening sensation on the skin.
