Overview
Polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate is a natural, PEG-free emulsifying ingredient. Supplied as an off-white pellet, this ingredient supports the formation of oil-in-water emulsions, which can include many lotions, creams, and sunscreens.
Polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate tends to produce thicker emulsions, but this can be controlled by the use of gum thickeners, the size of the oil phase, and the types of oils used. In spite of the high viscosity of emulsions produced by this emulsifier, they offer a good sensorial profile with smooth and silky aesthetics.
The emolliency of this ingredient leads to the skin appearing softer and smoother, as well.
