Overview

PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate is a nonionic surfactant that contains polyethylene glycol.

This ingredient primarily serves as a cleansing ingredient, in which it can produce crystal clear face or body washes. It is generally combined with other types of surfactants, such as anionics and amphoterics.

PEG-20 glyceryl triisostearate can also function as an emulsifier for oil-in-water emulsions. These emulsions tend to be very lightweight lotions or creams that have a fast break and good spreadability. This ingredient is highly specialized in its ability to form clear microemulsions and oil-based cleansing products that emulsify on contact with water for easy rinsing.
