Extracted from the outer layer of rice grains, this oil is rich in occlusive moisturizing and emollient omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin E, and a potent antioxidant γ-oryzanol. It may have beneficial effects on dry or sun-damaged skin, as well as eczema.

Oryza sativa bran oil, or rice bran oil, is extracted from the hard outer layer of rice (Oryza sativa) grains. It is naturally very high in omega-6 fatty acids (mainly linoleic acid), vitamin E, and a compound called γ-oryzanol, which is a potent antioxidant.
In skincare, it is used as a base oil, a solvent, and an occlusive and emollient agent. It supplies antioxidants to the skin due to its vitamin E and oryzanol content and may have beneficial effects on dry or sun-damaged skin, eczema, and dermatitis.
The emulsions of rice bran oil are very stable and even suitable for use on sensitive or infant skin.
