Overview

Ocimum sanctum leaf extract is extracted from the leaves of Holy basil, also known as Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), a traditional herb used in Ayurveda medicine.

The extract has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which come from its content of various phenolic compounds (rosmarinic acid, flavonoids, and gallic acid).

It also has a sweet but pungent, ‘green’ aroma due to its content of the essential oil (it contains caryophyllene and vanillin which are responsible for the Tulsi scent).
