Overview

Nepeta cataria extract is a fragrant extract derived from catnip. Yes, the same catnip that drives your feline friend crazy! Catnip is a fragrant plant from the mint and sage family that is commonly grown as a decorative plant in gardens.

The fresh scent of the plant is due to the essential oil, majorly made up of nepetalactone, caryophyllene, and cineol. The extract is most commonly used as a fragrance, but the compounds also have antioxidant activities.

Naturally, if you are sensitive to fragrances, then you should be careful with this ingredient too.
