Overview

Narcissus tazetta bulb extract is an antioxidant and humectant moisturizing extract derived from the bulbs of the bunch-flowered daffodil, Narcissus tazetta. This decorative, multi-flowered species of narcissus is used in Persian traditional medicine for the treatment of various skin conditions.

In modern skincare, Narcissus tazetta bulb extract is used for its antioxidant properties. The bulb contains alkaloids, flavonoids, phenolic acids, and glycoproteins.

This extract, aside from its antioxidant activity, also offers astringent properties that stem from its content of alkaloids and organic acids. The glycoproteins and polysaccharides from the bulb tissue have humectant moisturizing and emollient properties.
