Overview

Methyl glucose sesquistearate is an extremely mild emulsifier derived from corn, specifically methyl glucose and stearic acid.

It is a non-ionic, lipid emulsifier; therefore, it can be used in a variety of personal care formulations. A secondary emulsifier is required for stability. It can be used to help strength anhydrous stick formulas by preventing syneresis.

It provides stabilization in emulsions from lotions to creams and in particular in make-up. It also forms a thin barrier on the skin which can promote skin moisture retention.

Additionally, it offers a pleasant feel and is compatible with a wide range of active ingredients and all types of cosmetic oils.
