Overview

Menthyl lactate is a derivative of menthol that is allegedly less sensitizing than menthol itself.

It comes in various forms: from a colorless liquid to a white, crystalline solid with a weak odor, similar to that of tobacco and chamomile. It is almost tasteless and is used as a refreshing ingredient in cosmetic products that creates a lasting, fresh, gentle cooling effect on the skin.
