Overview

Mangifera indica fruit extract is an extract derived from whole mango fruits, or from the remains after fruit processing (e.g. peels and pulp).

It has a nice fruity scent and contains various beneficial compounds such as flavonoids, carotenoids, and anthocyanins (plant pigments with antioxidant properties). It also contains lots of tannins, which are astringent compounds responsible for the mouth-puckering taste of mango (they make the skin feel tighter).

Mangoes, however, are famous for containing sticky resins which may be sensitizing for the skin.
