Litsea cubeba fruit oil is a lemon-scented essential oil distilled from the fruits of the Litsea cubeba, an evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia.
The essential oil is used as a fragrance with a strong, fresh, lemon-like scent – which is due to the content of citral in the essential oil (70-90%). The essential oil can also be obtained from the leaves of the Litsea cubeba, although it smells a bit different (woodier and more pine-like) and is considered inferior to the fruit essential oil.
