Overview

Lavender flower water is a water that has been produced in the process of lavender essential oil distillation, and is infused with lavender essential oil to the maximum degree that the water can take (since it is a commonly known fact that essential oils are insoluble in water).

It is basically a by-product of essential oil production. Alternatively, it can also be prepared by infusing clean distilled water with lavender essential oil.

Lavender flower water, similarly to other essential waters, contains less than 1% of lavender essential oil. It has a distinct lavender scent, which is due to the essential oil constituents linalool and linalyl acetate.

It has astringent and wound healing properties, as well as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial effects. The essential oil is very safe because it is diluted in the flower water, and so it has a low risk of allergic reactions.
