Overview

Laminaria ochroleuca is a species of edible brown seaweed also known as golden kelp, named after its brownish-gold color.

It is used for the extraction of alginates – a gelatin substitute that comes from algae.

The extract from Laminaria digitata contains many different polysaccharides, that have water-binding and soothing properties.

Seaweed extracts in general are also potent antioxidants and contain many beneficial minerals.
