Overview

Juniperus mexicana oil is an essential oil distilled from the wood, twigs, and leaves of the Texas Cedarwood, or Juniperus ashei – Mountain Cedar (botanically correct name). The tree grows in Texas and the surrounding areas, usually considered to be a pest species because of its tendency to overgrow cattle pastures.

The essential oil has a deep, rich, woody aroma. Two main constituents of the essential oil are Cedrol and Thujopsene. It is used as a fragrance in skincare products.
