Isostearyl isostearate is a long chain ester that functions primarily as an emollient. This ingredient imparts a luxurious softness to the skin and offers excellent spreadability with a non-greasy feel.
In addition to improving the sensorial profile of various skincare products, isostearyl isostearate also serves as a good solvent. This ingredient is useful for wetting out and suspending solid particles, such as sunscreen minerals or iron oxide pigments, and for dissolving a variety of oils and waxes together.
Isostearyl isostearate is supplied as a clear, colorless liquid and is soluble in oils only.
