Overview
Isoceteth-20 is an emulsifier and a cleansing agent. Based on the “eth” in its name, isoceteth-20 is an ethoxylated ingredient, which means it is water-loving and produces oil-in-water emulsions.
In addition, this ingredient acts as a surfactant, which is the cleansing ingredient in soaps. The oil-loving side of the surfactant molecule encapsulates dirt and oils on the skin, while the water-loving side of the same molecule allows the encapsulated dirt and oils to be easily rinsed away with water. This is the basis behind how surfactants help keep skin clean and free of debris.
