Overview
Hydrolyzed wheat protein is protein that has been extracted from wheat and broken down into its individual amino acids.
This ingredient is commonly used for its film-forming abilities, in which is creates a water-resistant film around the product upon application. The film prevents the product from being easily rinsed away by water or sweat.
In addition to functioning as a film former, hydrolyzed wheat protein also works as an antistatic agent, where it reduces the electric charge buildup that occurs with static. This ingredient is supplied as a water soluble amber liquid with a faint pleasant odor.
