Overview

Hydrogenated vegetable oil is a mixture of various plant oils (such as soy, olive, corn, canola, peanut, and many others) which has been refined to get rid of all unsaturated double bonds in the fatty acids.

The resulting oil is a solid, butter-like substance, which is highly occlusive (moisturizing) and emollient. The fully saturated fatty acids are very effective at preventing transdermal water loss, but might feel oily on the skin and leave a residual film.

The oil is best suitable for very dry skin.
