Overview
Hydrogenated palm oil is a processed version of palm oil (Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil) that has been hydrogenated to get rid of all the unsaturated double bonds in the fatty acids. This oil is semi-solid or solid, very oily, occlusive, and emollient.
It is used as a base oil in skincare products for very dry skin (since it forms an oily film on the skin’s surface), as well as as a thickener and occlusive moisturizing ingredient.
