Overview
Hydrogenated coconut oil is refined coconut oil that has been processed further to transform all fatty acids from unsaturated to saturated. This increases the melting temperature of the oil, making it more stable at higher temperatures. This form of coconut oil should only have a minimal coconut scent.
In skincare products, it is used as a base oil with moisturizing (occlusive) properties. It helps with the formulation of the product since it is solid at room temperatures. It is very oily and emollient, suitable for extremely dry skin.
