Hibiscus Abelmoschus Seed Extract

Overview

Hibiscus abelmoschus seed extract is a fragrant extract obtained from Musk mallow seeds. Musk mallow is an aromatic plant related to marsh mallow and hibiscus and is native to Asia and Australia.

The seeds have a heavy, sweet, and musky fragrance similar to that of animal musk (which the extract was once used as a substitute for). Nowadays there are synthetic perfumes for this purpose, and so Musk mallow is rarely used.
