Hibiscus Abelmoschus Extract

Overview

Hibiscus Abelmoschus extract is a fragrant extract obtained from Musk mallow seeds. Musk mallow is native to Asia and Australia and is an aromatic plant related to marsh mallow and hibiscus. The seeds have a heavy, sweet, and musky fragrance, similar to that of animal musk.

This extract was once used as a substitute for animal musk, although nowadays is mostly replaced by synthetic musk perfumes. Musk mallow is therefore rarely used anymore.
