Overview

Hexyldecanol is an ester that is medium spreading, has low viscosity, imparts emollience with minimal shine, and it is lightweight in comparison to other pure oils. It has minimal stability issues due to its ability to be used in a wide pH range in all types of personal care products especially relaxers, deodorants and depilatory products.

It is derived mainly from palm kernel oil or coconut oil. It can be used to help solubilize oil actives and pigments for make-up applications. It is used in anhydrous and stick formulations to help blend and prevent separation of silicones, oils and butters that normally are not compatible.
