Helianthus annuus seed extract is an extract obtained from raw sunflower seeds or from the seed cake left over after oil extraction. Sunflower seeds contain many emollient compounds that help with skin dryness. Among its beneficial phytochemicals are squalene, phytosterols, phospholipids, and vitamin E (an important antioxidant).
