Helianthus annuus (sunflower) extract is an extract obtained from sunflower seeds, either raw or from the seed cake after oil extraction.
Sunflower seeds contain a lot of phytochemicals that are beneficial for the skin: squalene, phytosterols, phospholipids, amino acids, and vitamin E. Sunflower extract helps with skin dryness, is an emollient, and, due to its content of vitamin E, is an important antioxidant and soothing ingredient.
