Overview
Glyceryl laurate is a monoglyceride ingredient that originates from coconut or palm. This ester is commonly used as an emollient in rinse-off products, but it can also be found in some leave-on skincare products. It is supplied as a white bead, powder or paste, depending on the method of manufacture.
Glyceryl laurate can also function as an emulsifier, in which it supports the formation of water-in-oil emulsions. These particular emulsions consist of water droplets suspended within a continuous oil phase, and they tend to be richer in their aesthetic than their oil-in-water counterparts.
