Overview

Glucosamine HCl is an effective antistatic ingredient. Because of its chemical preference for water – also known as its polarity – this ingredient draws water onto its surface, which dissipates the buildup of static electricity.

In addition to being a good antistatic agent, glucosamine HCl can also act as a pH adjuster. It is a fairly acidic compound, which means it has a pH on the lower end of the scale. Therefore, it is useful for a downward adjustment of the pH of various skincare products, such as lotions, creams, and even cleansing products.

This ingredient is generally supplied as a white crystalline powder.
