Overview

Ethyl oleate is an ester of oleic acid with ethanol. It is a pale yellow, very oily liquid with a delicate, faintly floral, fatty scent. It is used as an emollient in skincare products.

It is also used as a solvent for fat-soluble ingredients, but with a special property – it leaves the surface of the skin (and hair) shiny and glossy.
