Epilobium angustifolium flower/leaf/stem extract is extracted from a plant known in North America as Fireweed, and in Europe as Willowherb – Epilobium angustifolium (or Chamaenerion angustifolium, according to the new nomenclature).
The extract, although commonly used in traditional herbal medicine, is rarely used for skin-related issues. Due to its abundant tannins and flavonoids, however, it has great astringent and antioxidant properties, giving the skin a tightening sensation.
