Overview

Coconut acid is the name for a mixture of fatty acids obtained from coconut oil, or copra oil. This mixture contains mostly saturated fatty acids, mainly lauric acid (up to 50%), myristic acid, palmitic acid, and smaller amounts of unsaturated oleic acid.

In skincare products, it is used as an emollient, emulsion stabilizing, and cleansing ingredient, removing oily impurities from the skin and making it feel soft and smooth.
