Citrus sinensis peel oil expressed is an essential oil pressed from the peels of sweet oranges. It is used as a fragrance that gives the skincare product a fresh orange scent. The scent is due to the component of the essential oil called limonene (around 90% of sweet orange essential oil is made up of limonene). Other, less frequent components of the orangey scent are myrcene and geranial.
People sensitive to essential oils and perfumes may find it irritating (especially when combined with sun exposure). Citrus sinensis peel oil may cause a sun-induced allergy on the skin, and so it is advised that you stay away from direct sunlight after the use of orange-scented cosmetics.
