Overview

Citrus nobilis peel oil is an essential oil obtained from the peels of mandarin (Citrus nobilis).

The peels of all citrus fruits contain mainly the essential oil, which, as is the case for the mandarin peel, contain mainly limonene, a compound responsible for the citrus smell. Limonene can represent up to 74% of the essential oil found in the mandarin peels. Other volatile compounds in mandarin essential oil include pinene, terpinene, and others that, as a whole, create the typical, sweet, mandarin aroma.

This essential oil is mainly used as a fragrance due to its limonene content.

Some people are sensitive to citrus extracts, especially when combined with sun exposure. It is not uncommon for these extracts to cause a sun-induced rash in these individuals. It would be better for you to avoid citrus extracts in your skincare if you are one of these people.
