Overview

Citrus medica vulgaris peel oil is a fragrant essential oil obtained from the thick peel of the Diamante citron, Citrus medica vulgaris.

It has a slightly different aroma to regular lemons due to the constitution of the essential oil – limonene (45%), terpinene (21%), and dodecanoic acid (7.5%) are the three main components.

Diamante citrons are rarely used aside from a strong tradition of ceremonial use in Jewish communities.

As is common with citrus fruits, the citrus medica vulgaris peel oil might be allergenic for more sensitive individuals, so make sure to test the product first.
