Overview

Citrus grandis seed extract is extracted from the small, hard seeds and white inner pulp of pomelo.

The seeds mainly contain an emollient fatty oil comprised of palmitic, oleic, and linoleic acid, while the extract contains vitamin E, other fat-soluble compounds, flavonoids, tannins, and special compounds called limonoids, which have an anti-inflammatory effect.

The extract has been subject to many scientific evaluations and so far is known to have antioxidant activity and to help with skin healing and inflammation.

It has an astringent and skin-protecting effect in skincare products. People sensitive to citrus fruits should avoid this ingredient, as it may cause contact allergy.
