Overview

Citrus aurantium dulcis fruit extract is an extract from the fruit of sweet orange, the same orange used for orange juice. The extract is often produced from the leftover rinds after juicing.

Orange fruit extract is used as a fragrant and antioxidant ingredient in skincare. It contains mainly sweet orange essential oil, which is mostly comprised of limonene (up to 95%).

The orange rind also contains high amounts of flavonoids (mainly hesperidin), which have antioxidant properties and are beneficial for the microscopic blood vessels in our skin. The orange color is caused by the content of carotenoids, which also have antioxidants properties.

People who are sensitive to citrus fruits should try to avoid products containing this citrus extract.
