Citrullus lanatus seed oil is an emollient fatty oil expressed from the seeds of red watermelon. The oil is produced as a way to utilize the watermelon seeds, which are usually discarded during fruit processing.
Luckily, it has fantastic properties for use in skincare products: the main fatty acid is linoleic acid (68%) followed by small amounts of oleic and palmitic acid. This makes watermelon seed oil a beneficial emollient and occlusive moisturizing ingredient suitable for all skin types.
It feels light on the skin and does not leave a greasy after-feel.
