Overview

Chamomilla recutita flower water is a fragrant essential water obtained as a by-product of the essential oil distillation of German chamomile flowers.

Chamomile essential oil is blue in color due to the presence of a fragrant compound called chamazulene (the other important fragrant and anti-inflammatory compound is called bisabolol). These two make up the majority of chamomile essential oil and are also dissolved in the essential water.

Chamomilla recutita flower water is used as a fragrant ingredient, with the added benefit of the astringent and anti-inflammatory properties of chamazulene and bisabolol.
