Overview
Cetyl esters is an ingredient blend of saturated fatty alcohols and fatty acids.
This creamy, white wax offers excellent emolliency with a soft, smooth finish on the skin. Cetyl esters is compatible with a variety of waxes and oils, both mineral- and vegetable-derived, so it works well in waterless systems or in the oil phase of emulsions.
When used in emulsions, it functions as a viscosity controlling agent, as well. Due to this ability to thicken products, cetyl esters also works well as an emulsion stabilizer by suspending the other ingredients and preventing them from separating out.
