Overview

Camellia oleifera leaf extract is derived from the leaves of the species of Camellia known as oil-seed Camellia, or Tea-oil Camellia. This plant is commonly grown and cultivated in the forests and higher grounds of southern China.

Tea oil Camellia leaf extract acts as an astringent due to its content of tannins. These tannins create a tightening feeling on the skin, can help to reduce skin redness, and can speed up the healing process of small cuts. There's a research reporting that polysaccharides found in this extract have antioxidant properties.
