Camellia japonica flower extract is an extract obtained from the pink flowers of the common camellia, or Japanese camellia. Camellia trees bloom in the winter, which is why it is sometimes called the “winter rose”.
The flower extract contains flavonoids and anthocyanins, which have antioxidant properties, and is used in skincare as an antioxidant ingredient. The protective effects of camellia flower extract against pollution and pollution-induced aging were observed in a scientific study.
