Overview

Caesalpinia Spinosa fruit extract is an astringent extract derived from tara seed pods. The seeds of tara (Caesalpinia Spinosa) are used to extract tara gum, and the leftover pods are an excellent source of tannins.

In skincare, the tannin-rich extract from Caesalpinia Spinosa fruits has powerful astringent properties, giving the skin a tightened feeling. The tannins consist mainly of gallic acid derivatives, which also have antioxidant effects.
