Buddleja davidii extract is an extract derived from Buddleja davidii, a Chinese ornamental bush also called summer lilac. There is a tradition in China of using Buddleja leaves as a poultice to speed up the wound healing process and to treat skin ulcers.
There is only a handful of studies concerning Buddleja davidii extract and none of them are focused on skincare or wound healing, and so we cannot make any definitive conclusions.
The active compounds from Buddleja davidii are iridoids, various terpenes, flavonoids, and phenolic acids – which may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
